Serena Zanello, 30, earned her degree in Architecture at the Politecnico di Torino in 2003. After studies in Italy and France (Ecole d’architecture de Saint-Etienne ) she started her professional career in 2003 becoming a member of the Turin Architects Order and working for Pininfarina Extra, one of the most renowned international design firms. At Pininfarina she worked on car and car interiors design. Due to her background as an architect she was also asked to work on Pininfarina’s first ever hotel design, The Keating, a 35-room urban lifestyle hotel in downtown San Diego, USA. Her concept proved to be a true contender in the urban hotel genre and was named in the "100 Sexiest Hotel in the world 2007" with its reverend Minus 1 Lounge and its Merk Kitchen. She now lives in Los Angeles where she works as product designer, architect and graphic artist as a partner of Ctrl-Arch, a multi-disciplinary agency providing services related to the fields of architecture, interior design and graphic arts based in San Diego (USA), Torino (Italy), Paris (France) and Gent (Belgium).
